The condenser is a heat exchanger that converts high-pressure gas into high-pressure liquid. It then flows to the Receiver Dryer before reaching the expansion valve. The condenser's main function is to lower the temperature of the refrigerant during the condensation process. Once the warm temperature is reduced, a cool liquid is formed and released through the car's air conditioner vents.
Engineering & Design
The air-conditioning evaporator, located inside the dashboard, functions as a small radiator that supplies cold air for the air-conditioning system. It is called the evaporator because it is where the refrigerant, in its liquid state, absorbs heat from the air passing through it, causing it to change into a gaseous state (evaporate). The evaporated refrigerant is then returned to the air-conditioning condenser to release the absorbed heat. This process is continuously repeated, resulting in cold air being emitted from the air conditioner.
